Milana Levadna
Artist
Levadna Milana Mykhailivna was born on January 6, 1998, in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine. She received her Master’s degree in Monumental Painting from the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts and is currently working on her dissertation, researching the work of contemporary Ukrainian artists.
The artist chose the theme of animalistic imagery due to her deep compassion for animals and her active involvement in animal rescue. Through her art, she seeks to gently address the fragility of living beings, emphasize their natural beauty, and reveal how similar they are to us—once all that is harmful and artificial in human nature is stripped away. Her works strive to speak the language of empathy, attentive observation, and quiet respect for the world of creatures that live alongside us.
She pays great attention to the anatomy of the animals she depicts, aiming to convey their uniqueness with precision. The atmosphere of solitude and tranquility in her works invites the viewer to pause and immerse themselves in personal reflection. Stylistically, Milana uses contrasts of shapes, smooth and rough textures, and rich yet muted colors to create a striking and calming effect that highlights the naturalistic elements of her paintings.
Since 2019, the artist has actively participated in national and international exhibitions, competitions, and plein-air events. Her paintings are held in private collections in Ukraine, Poland, the United States, Canada, Germany, France, the Czech Republic, various Asian countries, and Denmark. Since 2022, she has been living and working in Lviv.
